Another first!

Today marks an important day for me. I made a sale to a community member, my first sale that was not family or friends. This was an important milestone for me! Adrenaline rushed through me when I got the message that this person wanted to purchase 2 art pieces for his place. My excitement was palpable through my whole body, and I trembled as I responded to his requests. When he asked about my pieces in more detail, not just specifications, but the story, ownership and artistry behind them, I felt pure excitement.

He wanted to make sure they were legit no doubt, but having someone take interest and express delight when I told him how the pictures came to be, where they were taken, and more details about the decor format, I felt like I accomplished something. I had accomplished the very thing I set out to do.... share my art and have it live with someone who appreciated it. The fact that he asked me to sign it, well I felt like a celebrity. But more than that, I felt like I have spent decades really (but especially the last three years), leading up to this point, and I saw all the hard work come to fruition today. Because I did this.... I dreamed it, I set out small goals and big ones, I persevered, I dedicated time, energy, creativity, and I am now believing in myself in a way I never have before.
